Gutierrez Fans 11 As Ridgeview Varsity Wolf Pack Shut Out Kingsburg
The Ridgeview Varsity Wolf Pack leaned on a dominant performance from Joel Gutierrez Friday night, shutting down the Kingsburg Varsity Vikings in a 2-0 road win.
Gutierrez was untouchable on the mound, striking out 11 batters while scattering just three hits in a complete game shutout. The senior right-hander didn’t walk a single hitter, setting the tone in a game where runs were at a premium.
Ridgeview broke through in the fourth inning. Mason Refuerzo lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home the first run, and Ben Castro followed by forcing in another with a fielder’s choice. That would be all the support Gutierrez needed.
At the plate, Ridgeview picked up timely contributions from Gabriel Stevens, Edwin Hidalgo, and Jacob Quintero, each recording a hit. Refuerzo and Castro drove in the team’s two runs.
The Wolf Pack also flashed their steady defense, backing Gutierrez with clean play behind him and keeping Kingsburg off the board all night.
With the victory, Ridgeview proved once again they can win tight, low-scoring battles—riding elite pitching, smart situational hitting, and error-free defense.

The Ridgeview Wolf Pack baseball team closed their 2025 season in storybook fashion, stringing together an incredible 13-game winning streak that carried them through the playoffs and into the history books.
The streak began in early May with a sweep over BHS and a 5–0 shutout over Highland, setting the tone for what would become a dominant stretch of baseball. The Pack followed it up with back-to-back shutouts against Templeton (3–0) and Lompoc (2–0) before overwhelming Sanger (10–1) in a statement victory. Pitching and defense were locked in, but the offense showed it could erupt when needed.
In the CIF Central Section Division II Championship, Ridgeview stayed poised under pressure, defeating Kingsburg 2–0 to secure the title and extend their streak. From there, the Pack shifted their sights to the SoCal Regional Playoffs—where they elevated their game even higher.
At Hardt Field, Ridgeview powered past Notre Dame 13–3, then battled their way through Estancia 6–3 to earn a shot at the regional crown. The final challenge came against Banning High School, and in the biggest game of the season, Ridgeview delivered one more clutch performance—a 1–0 shutout victory that sealed the SoCal Regional Division IV Championship.
This 13-game run wasn’t just about wins—it was about resilience, teamwork, and a group of players rising to the occasion when it mattered most. From dominant pitching performances to timely hitting, every player had a role in keeping the streak alive.
The Wolf Pack’s journey from May to June proved what Ridgeview baseball is all about: grit, unity, and championship heart.
