The Ridgeview Wolfpack Vanguard is the competitive marching band of Ridgeview High School in Bakersfield, California. They perform new and exciting shows each year. Each show blends marching and visual designs and they perform in in the California State Band Championship (CSBC) and USBands circuit. The group is led by an abundant of directors with the main director of the group being Robert Martens. It is also led by student section leaders and a drum major, Kyle Bursett. Over the years the vanguard has performed shows ranging from classical mashups to cultural themes. They serve as a key part of Ridgeview's Music program, representing the school in competitions community events.

"Last Time, Best Time"
Alyssa was a performer at Ridgeview and has since come back to teach Colorguard. Her favorite Marching show is Día de los Muertos 2015 and her favorite Winterguard show is Outnumbered 2022.
Head Battery Tech & Snare Tech
Andrew "Andy" Garcia has been teaching since 1987 all the way up until 2025, he began working for the Wolfpack back in 2011 and worked for the pack for 3 years before taking a break from Ridgeview. Andy came back to teach the pack in 2023 and helped lead the Ridgeview Drumline to multiple victories and helped them have a succesful winter indoor season in 2025 with the show title, "The Last Silence". Andy hopes to keep striving this year with the Ridgeview Battery and keep the winning spirit alive and strong for many years to come.
Bass Tech
Chloie Willingham was once a performer and part of the Ridgeview Wolfpack Vanguard and the Ridgeview Drumline since 2019 and has come back with a positive attitude and bright spirit to teach bass drums and be apart of the battery staff for her third year.
Tenor tech & Visual Tech
Jakob Barr has been teaching for about five years, with the start of his teaching career beginning at Lakeside Middle School. Jakob currently teaches at Ridgeview, McFarland jr high, and Stone creek Jr high. He marched Drum Corps with Gold drum and Bugle Corp in 2021, and marched with the BC drumline in 2022. He has since come back to help out visually and musically for the Ridgeview Drumline Battery staff and takes part in the Wolfpack Vanguard teaching staff.
Tenor tech
Johnathan "John" Arredondo was also once a performer for the Ridgeview Wolfpack Vanguard and was apart of the Ridgeview Drumline. John marched and lead the Golden Empire Drum and Bugle corp for the last two summers as a Drum major. He has come back to the Wolfpack to show what he has learned and teach tenors and inspire those who come to the Ridgeview Vanguard and Battery.
Pit Tech
Jazmin Jackson was once a performer at Ridgeview High School and took part in the Ridgeview Vanguard, Ridgeview Drumline, and the Ridgeview Orchestra. Jazmin has been teaching the front ensemble in both the Vanguard and the drumline, she has been teaching at the pack since 2021 and hopes this year to grow as an ensemble and shine again this year.
