KCSD offering no cost breakfast, lunch for ALL schools this 2024-25 school year!
During the 2023-2024 school year, nine schools in the Kenton County School District participated in the Community Eligibility Provision program, or CEP. CEP is a program that provides free breakfast and lunch to every student in a school, without qualifications or application requirements.
We are excited to share that starting in the 2024-2025 school year the CEP program is expanding to include all KCSD schools. This opportunity will provide every student in the district breakfast and lunch at no cost to the family. Providing this program enhances the positive learning experience for every student!
In the coming weeks information will be sent to provide more details and answer questions for the families in the KCSD community.
**Due to the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program districtwide, families no longer need to fill out Free and Reduced forms. The Household Income Form needs to be filled out to receive other benefits. A paper copy is also available at your child's school. One form per family needs to be completed.**

*In recent years the district has been able to absorb the cost of fees on behalf of families for making online payments, but due to a change in our food service technology system and an overall increase in costs to operate the National School Lunch Program we are unable to continue to do so at this time. We do hope to be able to resume this practice at some point in the future while continually working to provide quality meals to all students. Thank you for your understanding. Please remember that students are always welcome to add money to their a la carte/ second meal accounts with no associated fees by simply bringing cash or check to school. The fee for online payments will be a flat fee not dependent on the amount of money added to your student's lunch account, therefore to minimize the impact of this fee we suggest the following options:
If it is possible for your family, you may increase the amount you deposit in to your student's account when utilizing the online payments, minimizing the number of fees.
Send cash or check with your student to be deposited into their account.
Please note that there is no charge for accessing all other features of the online system. You will be able to monitor the deposits as they occur, account balance, as well as review your child's purchase history.

MEAL CHARGES
The Kenton County School District allows limited meal charges to cover the situation of a student losing or forgetting meal money. This service is not designed or intended to provide a credit service for continuous charging and collection of student meals. Under no circumstances can a-la-carte items be charged. Students that have outstanding meal charges are not allowed to buy any a-la-carte items.
If a student incurs five (5) unpaid meal charges, reasonable attempts will be made to notify parents/guardians by phone, email, or US mail. If a child incurs charges exceeding $50 during Kenton County tenure, charges may be turned over to the Board Attorney.
