Arrival and Dismissal

School Hours:

The school day begins at 8:50am and ends at 3:30pm.

Student Drop Off:

Morning drop off time is 8:30am- 8:50am for students going directly to their classrooms with their teachers. You will utilize the car rider line and remain in your car during drop off. 

Early drop off is available for families beginning at 8:00am. If dropping off early, you must park and walk your student to the school doors. A staff member will greet you at the door. Students will wait in the cafeteria until 8:30am when they will be dismissed to their classrooms. 

If you are arriving late (after 8:50) please park and enter the building with your student(s) through the front office doors. Tardy students must be signed-in. A tardy will count as an attendance event.

Student Pick up:

At the end of the day students will dismiss from the front doors at 3:30pm. You will need a car rider tag that will hang from your front mirror while picking up your student. If you plan to pick up students please request a car tag. Each family will be given 2 free, additional tags are $5 each. You will keep these tags every year until your student leaves Piner.  We will load 5 cars at a time. You must utilize the car rider line and remain in your car to pick up your student(s). When signaled you pull up to the curb by a cone. 

If a student is being picked up before the 3:30pm dismissal time, a parent/guardian will sign out the student from the front office. The parent/guardian will wait in the vestibule for the student. Early departures will count as an attendance event. A note must be written if someone other than the parent/guardian is picking up the student. Photo ID will be checked. 

Transportation Changes:

Any change to the regular transportation schedule must be communicated in writing, no later than 2:30pm for same day changes. You can send a note in with your child, send a message through Dojo to Vanessa Due, or email at vanessa.due@kenton.kyschools.us that day. No exceptions will be made.
