Attendance Policy
Good school attendance is one of the best ways to help your student learn all that he/she can! Students who attend school regularly have been shown to achieve at higher levels than students who do not have regular attendance. Research shows that attendance matters and is an important factor in student achievement.
If your student is absent from school, call the office by 10am to notify us of the absence at (859)356-2155, option 1. When your student returns to school a (parent or doctor) note must be brought in for the absent date(s). An attendance note (parent note or doctor note) is required within three (3) days any time your student is out of school. Also, if you know your student will be absent from school ahead of time, please contact the office to let us know.
Keep in mind that students are permitted a maximum of ten (10) excused days each year may be excused with a signed note from a parent/guardian. After the 10th excused absence per parent/guardian any additional absences will be excused per Policy 09.123 which includes a doctor's note. Within three(3) days of a student’s return to school, a written note signed and dated by the parent/guardian or physician explaining the absence must be presented. It is also important to remember it is better to miss a partial day of school than a full day. If your child is well, please do not use a full day absence for an unavoidable scheduled appointment, oversleeping, or feeling better after waking up sick with no fever or contagious symptoms. Please review the Kenton County Code of Conduct for more detailed information. Any attendance concerns can be directed to Mrs. Vanessa Due or Mrs. Emily Thompson.
