KY House Bill 51 requires all public middle and high schools to disseminate suicide prevention awareness information to all middle and high school students twice yearly. Dixie Heights High School utilizes curriculum from Hope Squad and Signs of Suicide (SOS)  to talk to our students about suicide prevention. These curricula have been reviewed and approved at both the district and state levels.

On September 8th, 2025, students will be participating in the first suicide prevention training of the year. The training will focus on recognizing the signs of suicide and what to do if someone needs help. The Dixie Heights School Counselors and SEB Interventionist will be available to talk with any student who has questions or concerns.

Suicide awareness is a team effort. If you see any of the below warning signs of suicide, reach out for help. Dixie Heights High School has school counselors available  to help during school hours. Otherwise, contact 988 by phone, text or chat, or contact your family doctor or therapist (if applicable). In the event of a true mental health emergency, call 911 or report to the nearest emergency room.
