You have officially made it through all 12 days! Congrats!
The final part of this year's EdTech Cheer will be to share your room - in the easiest way possible! There are several ways to share your room, but I will share my preferred way so that it takes students directly to your room without any additional clicks.
Getting the Link in Google Slides
Click on the yellow Share button in the upper right corner of your Google Slide presentation. Under General Access, change the permissions from Restricted to Anyone with the link can view. Press the blue Done button.
On the menu bar, click on File, then Share, then Publish to web. Under the Link section, press the yellow Publish button.
Copy the link that is now available.
Creating a Bitly Link
Go to bitly.com and sign into your account (or create a FREE account if you haven't already).
Click on the Create new button. Choose Link. Paste the link you copied from Google Slides. Press the orange Create button.
Choose your desired custom backhalf of your link. Press the orange Save button. Remember this is case sensitive!
Click on the Copy button to copy your custom bitly link.
Share with students in your desired location - LMS, email, written on the board, etc!
Ways to Share Your Room
Share the Bitly link or the published presentation link(as stated in the yellow "Getting the Link in Google Slides" above, only stopping at Step 2 or 3 - this will share the Google Slides in Present mode).
Share the link to the presentation (as stated in the yellow "Getting the Link in Google Slides" above, only stopping at Step 1 - this will share the Google Slides in View mode).
Embed your presentation on a website or other platform:
On the menu bar, click on File, then Share, then Publish to web.
Under the Embed section, choose your slide size, and then press the yellow Publish button.
Copy the HTML code. Paste it into your desired location for embedding.
Each day, a Virtual Room has been shared along with some thinking points. Today, I am sharing my collection (to date) of all of the Virtual Rooms I have created. Feel free to explore them for inspiration or just for fun. Or even feel free to use them with students if they fit your content needs.
Starting today, you will have the opportunity to take what you learned and create your own Virtual Room. Each day your work will build upon the previous day and at the end of the course, you will have a Virtual Room you can use with your students.
💾 Create a custom bitly link for your Virtual Room. This helps students easily access your room and saves time typing!
✅ Complete the final evaluation form to share your room, receive credit for today, and complete the final evaluation.
