Common Sense Media is an "independent voice for kids, families, and communities everywhere. We combine original research with game-changing advocacy efforts to make the digital world work better for all kids." Common Sense Media rates movies, TV shows, books, so that parents and educators can have understanding of resources that students might be using at home or school so that appropriate conversations can take place. They also provide Common Sense Education, which is targeted at educators, providing digital citizenship resources, EdTech ratings and reviews, as well as professional development.
Common Sense Media has a SEL in Digital Life Resource Center that has resources for K-12 teachers. The purpose behind this is to aid in supporting students' social and emotional learning as they navigate the digital world. Take a look at the video below to

No one has time for one more thing in the instructional day. However, we know that teaching SEL skills is necessary for students to be successful students and citizens. As you create your lesson plans, I challenge you to make the connection to SEL and embed this language into your lesson. If you are talking about character development, consider how the charter used specific SEL skills. Ask students how they can use similar skills. SEL doesn’t have to be complex if you make it a part of everything that you do.
