Writing can be an easy way for students to express their feelings. FutureMe provides a platform where anyone can write a letter to themselves and have it delivered at a future date. This could be a great tool for goal-setting or checking in with oneself at a later date. There is no need to create an account to send a letter, but if you create a FREE account, you can look back on previous letters you have received from yourself (but not at future ones - they haven't been delivered yet!).
Providing students with the opportunity to express themselves in writing allows them to tap into self-awareness and move into self-management. Students can identify their feelings, why they might be feeling particular emotions, and possibly identify solutions, people to reach out to, or ways of managing their emotions. One example of how students can become self-aware of their emotions and move into self-management is through Plutchik’s Wheel of Emotions.
Some digital resources that can be used for writing are:

Writing letters is a lost art in our digital world. Consider how this resource can help your students not only embrace good writing skills, but also tap into their self-awareness. Consider how you might write a letter at different times of the year and then have students go back at the end of the year to read and reflect on their progress.
