MLIS Program Learning Outcome: Critique and synthesize research and identify appropriate research methodologies to solve problems in the the field.
Description: In this proposal I designed a research study using a quantitative method to track users through the Columbus museum of art. This research focused on measuring the attraction power and holding power of different sections of the museum. Using different types of technology, the visitor is tracked through out the museum to pinpoint where they stop and for how long. Multiple methodologies were referenced from previous research studies to assist in developing my study. The idea being to identify what draws users in and keeps them in the museum so resources can be allocated for the procurement of these types of objects for the collection.
