That's right, I went through my 20s with ease in hair care apart from the post preggo hormone shift but I hit that magical birthday of the big 30 and that mop on the top of my scalp decided to get shady on me.
Now as a nurse for almost 20 years with five of those being in dermatology, I can personally say there are a million in-one ways you can start to experience hair loss. Everything from genetics, traction alopecia, and poor diet, to the dreaded diagnosis of "you are just stressed". Well, who isn't stressed?
Now, I am not saying your journey to healthier hair will be exactly as mine has been but I can share with you what I have tried, what I think caused a lot of my issues, and what ultimately worked for me. Obviously, I am a medical professional, but I am not a physician, and I am certainly not your hair stylist so definitely consult them if you have tried a few things and are not seeing results. Also, keep in mind hair takes a minute to grow back. So patience is probably my biggest recommendation.
You guessed it, the process matters. have fine thin hair, so I wash it every day to avoid that greasy look. I was also for a time using the drug mart whatever shampoo and conditioner that was probably on sale, and not paying attention to the ingredients or how to even wash your hair.
Enter the discovery phase of my hair journey, and I think we are finally getting back to a healthy scalp and routine. The baby hairs have started to sport and I actually have some volume to the mop now.
So my suggestions, wash twice a week once with a detox/clarifying shampoo for scalp health.
Next oil your scalp, specifically with rosemary oil/ and boiled rosemary water combination in spray bottle in the morning and before bed.
Lastly switch that pillow case to a fancy silk one. Not only doe sit decrease breakage, it is nice a cool on your skin too throughout the night!
