The word recession continues to swirl in the air as we watch grocery prices continue to creep up. We are all feeling it right now, the price of eggs and meat almost tripling in cost along with every other staple in daily life isn't exactly helping the general population get the warm and fuzzy feelings regarding the economy this year.
In 2020 my family started the backyard garden process with a focus on tomatoes because my youngest at the time could literally eat an entire cherry tomato container in one setting. The first year was definitely a learning curve and discovering green thumbs but fast forward to 2022, and even he couldn't keep up with how many tomatoes we were raking in!
So, naturally not wanting to waste all that amazing produce I went on a mission to discover how I could store them efficiently to make the most of what we grew. I knew I wasn't quite ready to tackle canning and would love to approach all leftovers in a similar way.
After doing some online research, I happened across the company Souper Cubes. In order to make it simple and quick to enjoy single portions of soup, broth, sauce, and other liquids or reuse them in recipes, Souper Cubes was created. However, I also use it to divide out leftovers from a meal for lunch the following week! Fill lines in each container to make it simple to freeze liquid in portions of 1/2 cup, 1 cup, 125 milliliters, or 250 milliliters. You can handle the tray with confidence when you move it to the freezer thanks to the steel-reinforced rim. To make it simple to remove cubes, each compartment is divided into individual segments. The lid gets rid of freezer smells. Souper Cubes are dishwasher-safe and constructed of food-grade silicone that is free of BPA. Comes in a super cute color selection and can easily be found on amazon. See below for some quick links.
