David Schubert, MMusEd

Director of Orchestras

David Schubert studied cello with Dr. Joseph Pival at Southern Illinois University and Dr. David Chinburg at Missouri Southern State University. He holds a master’s degree in Music Education from Liberty University

 

Mr. Schubert's career as a music educator and professional includes several diverse assignments. For fifteen years, he performed with and was the music director for Celebrant Singers – a  vocal/instrumental ensemble – taking him on 36 domestic and international tours and performing 300+ concerts annually. Notable performances include audiences with Pope John Paul II (Vatican City, Rome), concerts for Mother Teresa and the Missionaries of Charity (Calcutta, India), and in 1991 becoming the first American musicians to perform in Albania as the former Communist country began to re-open to the West.

 

In 1999 David became the Worship Arts Associate Pastor at Peoples Church (Fresno, California) and in 2012 accepted the position of Pastor of Performing Arts at Gateway Church (Southlake, Texas) where he was head of department and music director for numerous Broadway-style theatrical productions.

 

Mr. Schubert began teaching in Keller ISD as an instructor for Keller String Academy and private lesson cello/bass specialist in 2016. In 2020 he was selected to launch the orchestra program for the Falcon Feeder Pattern.

 

Mr. Schubert is also a published arranger and orchestrator whose work has been featured in Keller ISD Orchestra concerts, as well as live stage productions and televised special events. 

 

Mr. Schubert resides in Keller with his wife, Helena, and daughters, Lauren and Jaimie.
