Getting Started in Orchestra!

Being a part of the orchestra is more than just playing music – it’s a place to belong where students feel comfortable and safe, surrounded by quality friends in an atmosphere where everyone is encouraged and affirmed as individuals, as well as musicians. We enjoy being together, having fun, and growing in our love of music. The bond of community in the orchestra is one of the central keys to our success.

We also work hard. Learning to play an instrument takes commitment and discipline. It is also very rewarding. The group’s progress depends on each person applying themselves and consistently giving their very best. The standards are high. You will be stretched to play music you might think impossible. However, with persistence, you will grow and achieve success. You will discover that the joy of being a musician is not only found in the final performance, but in the whole learning process along the way.
