Dear FES Families,
What an incredible week we’ve had at Florence Elementary School! Our Lunch with Grandparents was filled with smiles, hugs, and unforgettable memories. Watching students proudly share lunch and laughter with their grandparents was truly heartwarming. Our students' beamed with pride and excitement as they shared in time with their grandparents and special guests and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate these amazing members of the Falcon Family! We also celebrated our Book Fair, where students explored new stories and rediscovered the joy of reading. The thrill and joy in a child's eyes when they find a book they like and dive into a world of adventure is unparalleled and helps them to grow as readers, writers, thinkers, and learners. On Wednesday, we had around 50 volunteers show up to learn more about being a part of our Watch Dogs this year at the Watch Dog kickoff and library celebration and Book Fair fun hosted by our counselor, Mrs. Jones and our librarian, Mrs. Sustaita!
Our school is made of incredible teachers, staff, and families who make a difference! You may have noticed as you drove up this week that our gardens got an upgrade, with fresh mulch, weeding, and removal of some dead trees courtesy of Alliance Materials (Owned by the Hanstead family) and a new team of Florence Garden Club Dads (Mr. Martin, Mr. Doty, Mr. Collins, and Mr. Page). A huge thank you to our amazing families and PTA volunteers— your time and effort made both the Book Fair and Grandparents’ Week extra special- you brought the magic to life for our students! Additionally, we met with our Campus Educational Improvement Committee, gathering valuable input from teachers, staff, parents, and community members to help guide our continuous improvement efforts as we plan for continued excellence at FES! Your voices are essential as we work together to make our school the best it can be. Thank you for your contribution to our school!
Thank you all for making this week one to remember!
Warmly,
With Falcon Pride,
Courtney Brandel
