Students will be able to

I can form opinions, make judgements by  using texts

I can determine the differences between a fictional and non-fiction text

I can analyse a time when two texts present information about a topic that conflicts.

 I can determine whether the problem is with facts or interpretation of the ideas.

I can identify and evaluate the way writers’ use language and ideas to suit their purpose

I can identify and resolve issues that come from competing information in texts

I can recognise and understand the features and structures of a wide variety of text types and text forms.

I can demonstrate understanding of textual features (such as subheadings, bold print, photographs, captions, font size, etc.). 

I can analyse information from diagrams, charts, graphs, and illustrations.
