The World Languages 7 course is similar to World Languages 6.
Students will learn some simple vocabulary including simple expressions of courtesy in both French and Spanish. In the 7th grade year, there are more opportunities for students to choose what they would like to learn. Students will create their own assessments and rubrics, and in some cases, they will also create their own tests/quizzes!
If you are in this class during the 3rd quarter, you will participate in Manie Musicale! Each year we participate in the Manie Musicale which is an international music sensation! You will learn all about it in our class. All the videos with the French and English subtitles are in a shared folder in the MATERIALS section of Google Classroom.
From Atlas Rubicon: This course introduces students to the French & Spanish languages and the cultures of various French & Spanish-speaking parts of the world. It is designed to generate enthusiasm for learning the language by incorporating students' interests into the course. Because students are directing a significant portion of their learning, the topics covered change from year to year. Some common themes will be (reviewing) expressions of courtesy, cultural project that is determined by the time of year and events happening in the target language countries or by current events, and other topics decided upon by the students. This course incorporates learning they attained in the 6th grade World Language course, but is not dependent upon having taken that course.
