My name is Jo-Ann Bélanger, and I'm the French teacher at the Middle School. I hold a French certification in New Hampshire and Maine. I have a BS in French Education, minor in Theatre Arts, MSEd in Education, and a certificate in Indigenous Studies.
I have taught in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Some of the topics / subjects I've taught or lectured on include: French, English for English Language Learners, Franco Cultures, Indigenous Studies, Tenor Drumming for Bagpipe Bands, Spanish, World Cultures, and Reiki. I am also a concierge tour guide in Paris and Quebec City.
I am very active in a variety of communities and either currently or in the past, have been a volunteer with: the Manie Musicale Advisory Board, the American-Canadian Genealogical Society, Lakes Region Emergency Food and Shelter Program (FEMA), Franco-American Centre (former VP of the Board of Trustees), the Mt Kearsarge Indian Museum (former Trustee), the New Hampshire Association of World Language Teachers (retired Board member), NHScot (organizers of the NH Highland Games), the Abenaki Indian Center, AHA - Abenaki Helping Abenaki Food Sovereignty Program, the Abenaki Trails Project, and the Pipes and Drums of NHScot. I currently live near my family in Laconia. When I am not with them, or doing a lot of volunteer work, I enjoy traveling and socializing with friends.
