In February we worked on our Loud and Quiet unit! We did creative movements with movement scarves and ribbons to loud and quiet music, we sang songs loud and quietly, we played new rhythm sticks loud and quietly, and played our favorite game Closet Key! In Closet Key, one student gets to hide a magical key in the classroom and one student gets to find the hidden key. The rest of the class gives clues to find the key by singing loud when the finder is close and by singing quiet when they are far away, kind of like a musical game of hot and cold! We have learned the songs: Closet Key and The Lion Sleeps Tonight. We also are trying out a new screen and have played the piano, instruments to celebrat the Lunar New Year and identified national anthems from around the world to celebrate the Olympics! In Early Childhood, we sang lots of songs about zoo animals and learned how to play fast and slow!
