You might feel sadness, grief, disappointment, anxiety, fear, joy, happiness, excitement, relief, boredom, frustration or countless other emotions over the course of this time.
We are all feeling a range of emotions right now, and it's totally normal. If your emotions are starting to get to be too much, speak to a parent or other trusted adult, or check in with one of us.
Check out the tips listed under "Coping Skills".
Find things to do that bring you joy, like learning a new skill. Maybe you have always wanted to learn to dance, or improve your drawing skills. THIS IS THE TIME!
This could be the time to share your hobbies with your family, too. Distract yourself by teaching your parents a Tik Tok dance, or by sharing some of your favorite music.
We are all learning how to connect with our family and friends virtually. Consider playing an online game of Codenames (Codenames.plus) or setting up zoom-based dance parties. Complete virtual challenges like the 30-day song challenge ( https://www.bustle.com/p/how-to-do-the-30-day-song-challenge-on-instagram-22774509 ) to stay connected!
A quote that may be helpful:
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo.
“So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” -The Fellowship of the Ring, J.R.R. Tolkein
Remember that we are all going through this together, and this could be the time to practice your skills of kindness and empathy, both towards yourself and others.
