D7210 is kicking off a challenge for all clubs to host a fundraiser this October in support of PolioPlus! Rotary began its fight against polio in 1979, with the goal of immunizing 6 million children in the Philippines. Since then, Rotary has helped protect millions of children worldwide, and today only two countries have yet to be declared polio-free. We encourage every club to learn more about PolioPlus and join the effort to help end polio. You can find more information and resources at endpolio.org.
The fundraising challenge will run from October 1st to October 31st, and we ask that you report your total funds raised by November 5th. Please submit the funds to your sponsoring Rotary club, who will forward them to The Rotary Foundation - PolioPlus Fund.
While participation is optional, we hope many clubs will join this important cause. As a fun incentive, the top 3 fundraising clubs will win a pizza party!
What is Interact-
Interact is a youth service program under Rotary International designed for young people aged 12 to 18. It encourages leadership development, community service, and international understanding through involvement in local and global projects.Â
Interact empowers young people to actively contribute to their communities while developing leadership skills and understanding global issues. It fosters a spirit of volunteerism at a young age and helps students see the positive impact they can have on the world.
Many Interactors go on to become Rotaractors and Rotarians, continuing their commitment to service and leadership well into adulthood.
Does your club have an Interact connection, or are you looking into it for a local school?
