During this exploration and colonization time period, France, Spain, and England raced across the Atlantic for land and other natural resources in the America's.
Whether for God, Gold, or Glory, each nation set out to expand their empire and reach from across the globe.

France initially came to North America to explore fur trade with the Natives and explore the Northwest Passage.
France began setting up fur trading posts along the Mississippi River to further expand their empire.

The Spanish came to the Americas to expand their empires and find gold.
Once the Spanish conquered the Natives, they set out to search for gold.
When settling the Americas, they built Spanish Missions, where they taught Natives to worship a Christian God.
