MATH REPOSITORY

Welcome to the Kansas MTSS & Alignment Math Repository. This site has been developed with the goal of equipping teachers and instructional leaders with practical resources to provide all students, PreK to Grade 12, with accessible and meaningful mathematical experiences that lead to mastery learning through a multi-tiered lens. Peruse through the site to find evidence-based practices related to improving student achievement through intentional PLC collaboration, effective instructional practices for core, proven intervention strategies, timely assessment and feedback, plus a myriad of resources to facilitate professional development.

Evidence Advocacy Center

The Evidence Advocacy Center (EAC) envisions an education system that values evidence in educator preparation programs, in in-service education, in continuing education, and in the work that goes on within the school and the classroom. To achieve this, evidence-based licensure, accreditation, continuing education, and accountability are needed to permanently transform education into an adequately funded and supported evidence-based profession.

Five Red Flags for Education Research

"Research-based" is a term often used to bolster one's claims to show that something works. Yet, what seems like it works in the classroom may fizzle out when it comes to actual outcomes when a student is assessed on their learning. Something that seems engaging, may not actually lead to learning for all students. Many popular books and ideas laud bold, and seemingly credible claims touting boosted student engagement, learning and achievement. Benjamin Solomon, PhD recently created a helpful tool that aids educators in deciphering the claims. Check out the Five Red Flags for Education Research (Group Design), which is linked here.
