Welcome to A-level dance at KAA! Here at KAA dance is a thriving subject with a 100% A*-A pass rate at A-level and has helped students get offers from some of the top performing arts colleges in the UK, including London Studio Centre and Trinity Laban. On top of this KAA also has exceptional practical facilities including a designated dance studio equipped with a fully sprung floor, ballet barres and mirrors, and a theatre with seating for 220 people.
Engaging with these tasks will help foster your passion for the subject and make the transition into A-level dance much easier.
Our A-level course incorporates both practical and theoretical work and over the coming weeks you should engage with both these elements through the tasks set. You must stay fit and active during this time as the majority of your lessons in September will be practical-based.
There are various contemporary dance lessons aimed at beginners, GCSE students and adults. They are specifically designed to be done at home and require very little floor space.
Make detailed notes on how the subject matter of these are portrayed through constituent features of each work (set, lighting, costume, accompaniment, movement)
