Animators create a moving image using different techniques - hand-drawn, computer-based, stop motion, and photography. Animators often specialise in one particular aspect of animation, such as character animation or special effects.
An animator will work with a production team and other artists who contribute to the creation of the animation, such as layout artists, background artists, and storyboard artists - as well as a director, producer, sound engineer and editor.
How would you describe the mood of the character on the left?
How has the animator communicated the character’s mood? Consider the facial expression and body language.
How has a sense of movement been created? How do we know the characters are on a train?
