Advanced Placement (AP) Psychology gives learners the opportunity to pursue college-level psychology studies while still in high school. Learners will cultivate their understanding of the systematic and scientific study of human behavior and mental processes through inquiry-based investigations. They will explore the biological bases of behavior, sensation and perceptions, learning and cognition, motivation, developmental psychology, testing and individual differences, treatment of abnormal behavior, and social psychology.
This class follows the advanced placement course description, and uses appropriate materials as set forth by the College Board. The AP exam is strongly encouraged.
Additional Skills and Expectations:
Willingness to accept and complete a rigorous reading schedule including text, primary sources, and supplemental materials.
Demonstrate advanced proficient writing skills.
Independently analyze text.
