In addition to the four scenarios, full-time online learning by request will be offered. There will be some students who are unable to join their peers in person when their families prefer to keep them at home due to the potential for virus exposure within a traditional school setting. This scenario represents a commitment to serve these students through public education, despite their inability to participate in person at a school site. For families who elect this option, LCPS will deliver an alternative instructional model designed to be completed 100 percent outside a traditional school. Students served under this model would receive full-time instruction via online courseware and digital curriculum resources along with instruction and support from a LCPS teacher. Families will be required to commit to distance learning for an entire semester. However, if a family chooses to receive face-to-face instruction and would like to change to full time on-learning due to individual circumstances, this will be permitted during the school year.
