Literary Analysis

I literally will be Analysing literature and... Writing about it

Cronus

In the story of Cronus, Cronus seems a bit selfish, but also afraid. Cronus does not want the same thing that happened to his father happen to him.

Gaea and Uranus were the father of Cronus, when Gaea had given birth to some of her other children, that were monstrous Uranus was not proud of them and put them in a pit under the earth. Gaea was angered by this and asked Cronus rise up against his father and save his brothers. Cronus over through his father but did not save his brothers[Paragraph 1+2] .

When Cronus married his sister Rhea they had 6 children. In the passage "Cronus was afraid that his children might rise up against his authority, as he had against his own father, Uranus." He was afraid his children would rise up against as he did to his father[paragraph 3].

After each child was born he would swallow them to prevent them from rising up against him in the future[paragraph 3].

These facts prove that indeed Cronus is selfish with his power but is also afraid of his children overthrowing him.
