National History Day

The AHS National History Day team is a nationally AWARD-WINNING team of dedicated young historians and scholars.

We are diving into primary and secondary historical sources to conduct in-depth analysis of important historical events, people, places, inventions, ideas and movements.

This year's theme is:  TURNING POINTS IN HISTORY

Students submit their work in late February and begin competing in March at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA.  Themes are released in June for the following year's competition.  This allows researchers ample time to research, write, annotate, and theorize.

Would you like to join us?
