The A.I.M Program (Adapt / Include / Motivate) is specially designed for students on the autism spectrum and who require a sub-separate setting. Currently, we have 7 multi-graded classrooms for the AIM program in grades 1 - 8. AIM students are included in general education classes based on the individual needs of the student.
This is my first year as a classroom teacher! Previously, I was a paraprofessional in the AIM program working with students in grades K - 2 for 4 years at the Winter Hill! I have received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and initial licenses in both Early Childhood Education and Special Education. In the classroom I enjoy arts & crafts, sensory, and cooking activities!
(she/her) Bryn has been working at Winter Hill since 2022. She graduated from UMass and Columbia, and has been working in special education ever since! Outside of school, she likes reading, exercising, and going to concerts.
Hello! I’m Caroline! I am so excited to be returning for my 7th year in Somerville and my 12th year teaching! I have taught all ages from 1st grade up until age 22. I am always finding ways to encourage independence with my students and getting them connected with their peers. Hi! My name is Ms. Kate (she/her/hers). I am so excited to be back for my second year as a Speech Language Pathologist in the AIM program! Prior to working in Somerville, I worked at a special education school with middle school students in Baltimore, MD. I love watching my students learn to advocate for themselves, interact with their friends, and grow throughout the school year. When I'm not at school, I love to bake, read, go on walks, and play the violin.
My name is Brittany McEwen and my pronouns are she/her. This is my 11th year teaching! I have been a Wildcat for 2 years and love teaching in this community! I have had lots of different experiences in different states and various types of classrooms- working at Winter Hill in AIM is my favorite! I love to read books, go hiking with my fiancé and our dog, spend time outside in nature and build cool Legos!
I am a 2nd-3rd Grade AIM teacher. This will be my second year in this role. I go by the pronouns She/Her. I have been in the field of education for almost 20 years, first starting in BPS as a teacher’s aide before transitioning to SPS. I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master's degrees in child and adolescent development and education. My favorite things to do are travel, hang out with my dogs, watch SpongeBob, and add to my extensive sneaker collection.

After teaching for 10 years I decided to pursue a degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and became a BCBA. I have worked in a number of settings including a severe sub-separate school (with 2 years spent living in the Middle East), public school, and a special education collaborative.
