What We’re Doing for the Rest of the Year
April: Right now, we’re focused on getting ready for the state writing test on the 15th. Students are practicing different writing skills and working through test-style prompts so they feel more confident and prepared.
End of April: We’ll shift gears a bit and do some fun listening and writing activities. These will be more relaxed and designed to keep students engaged without the pressure of testing.
May: To wrap up the year, we’ll be working on a persuasive writing project. Students will try to “sell” an unsellable product, which is a fun and creative challenge! They’ll also present their ideas to the class, giving them a chance to practice their speaking and listening skills.
Please Note: Students will be given a grammar packet. They will have two weeks per packet and plenty of time to get these completed. If they do not use their time wisely, these will be homework.
Here are my plans for my writing class. I will usually be planned out up to two weeks.
