In quarter 3 we will prepare our 8th grade students for the transition to HS through a variety of presentations/lessons. We hope that you and your student become actively involved in the planning of their high school courses.

January
MMS Counselors provide lesson on HS terminology.
High School 101 Terminology 2025 Presentation
MMS Counselors provided career lesson and introduced learners to SDMyLife. Learners completed an interest inventory. *Guardians if you would like access to SDMyLife Parent Portal contact Mrs. Hoffman at MMS. dannica.hoffman@k12.sd.us

MMS Counselors provided lesson Welcome to BHS and creating 4 year plans.
February
BHS Counselors will assist learners with course plan review for their freshman year and 4 year plan.
On Tuesday, February 11, BHS will host a BHS Rising Freshmen Parent /Guardian Info Session at 6PM in the BHS Bell Auditorium.

May
In May, 8th grade learners will tour the high school during Becoming a Bobcat Day.
August
Families will have the opportunity to tour the campus with their learners during the Back-to- school event.

Planning for BHS courses is an important step in learners preparing for their future. From preparing for college to exploring different careers, course selection should be thoughtfully considered. A parent/guardian's input and conversation regarding courses is an important part of this process. We appreciate you taking some time to discuss and look at options with your learner.
