The Brookings Backpack Project helps students who may not have enough food to eat at home by providing them with easy-to-prepare weekend meals and snacks throughout the year . To receive a backpack there is a short form to complete that is available in the counselor's office.
The goal of the Family Back2School Project is to provide children the opportunity to choose their school supplies in a "store like" setting for the upcoming school year . The Teen Center is part of the Boys and Girls Club and features many different areas for club members to hang out, including a main gym area and gaming area, which includes a pool table and ping-pong table. The building includes a STEAM learning area, with STEAM standing for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
