General State Scholarsips

This scholarship is designed for students who are pursuing an education in agriculture at any 2 year or 4 year program in South Dakota or North Dakota. Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. The application form can be found by clicking the button to the right.

This scholarship is directed toward students who are children of, grandchildren of, or members of the American Legion or its Auxiliary or the Sons of the American Legion. In addition, students must have a combined 16 successful college credits/dual credits prior to graduation.

This scholarship is directed toward applicants who will be first year students at BHSU, DSU, SDSU, or USD entering an elementary education program as their major. two scholarships worth $1000 are available. Students must have a 3.0 or higher GPA. This scholarship application is completed on the South Dakota Board of Regents website. The button to the right will take you to the sign on page where you may or may not (if you already have one) need to create an account to complete the application.

This scholarship is directed toward students demonstrating financial need. Applicants must be planning to attend any South Dakota post-secondary institution. An application form will be included when it is posted. 

Application is due by: March 13th, 2026

This scholarship is directed toward applicants who are from the local CHS Farmers Alliance trade area (Corsica), are planning to work in the agriculture field and are enrolled in any post-secondary education.

This scholarship is designed for students who are actively participating in Track & Field, have participated in a Howard Wood Dakota Relays Meet, and are committed to a College/University to continue their Track & Field career. Applicants must demonstrate leadership, athleticism, and at least a 3.2 GPA. 2, $1000 scholarships are available to one male and one female athlete.

This scholarship is directed toward applicants who are considered immediate family to a current or former SD National Guard soldier. This scholarship can also be granted to a family member of a SD National Guard solder who is physically disabled. The amount and number of scholarships varies each year.

This scholarship is for applicants who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary college, university, vocational school, community college, or junior college on a full time basis. At the time of application, students must have a First Dakota checking account. 

Application is due by: March 3rd, 2026

This scholarship is directed toward students who plan to attend a public or private college, university, or technical college. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, scholastic capability, and have a connection to the Masonic fraternity, either living or deceased. Several $2000 scholarships are awarded each year.

This scholarship is directed toward applicants who have a parent who suffered an on the job fatality or injury that has had an negative effect on family income.

This scholarship is directed toward students in Rural Broadband Association communities who are customers of their broadband service. This includes Golden West and Midstate Communications. Students must also express an interest in returning to a rural community. 

Application is due by: February 14th, 2026

This scholarship is directed toward students whose family are members of Midstate Communications and who plan to be full time post-secondary students starting in the fall of 2026. There are 7 scholarships available, each worth $750. 

Application is due by: March 1st, 2026

This scholarship is directed toward students who plan to attend a multi-year program at any accredited technical college or accredited post-secondary higher education institution in South Dakota. Additionally, applicants must be earning a degree in a field that is useful in the telecommunications or broadband industries or that significantly relies on broadband services or technologies. Applicants must also have parents/guardians who are members of either Golden West or Midstate Communications.

This scholarship is directed toward students who plan to attend South Dakota School of Mines and Technology or South Dakota State University to major in Engineering.

This scholarship is designed for students who are pursing a career in plumbing, heating, and cooling industry. There are two scholarships of $2000 given out each year in South Dakota. Preference is given to those intending to or who are enrolled in an industry program within South Dakota. 

Application is due by: April 1st

This scholarship is directed toward applicants who are planning to attend a South Dakota technical college or college and are majoring in Agriculture/Conservation. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. A total of two $1000 scholarships are available. 

Application is due by: March 1st, 2026

This scholarship is directed toward students who plan to attend a Technical College in South Dakota, who demonstrate financial need and the capability to complete the vocational training program they select.

This scholarship is directed toward students pursuing degrees in agriculture production, precision farming, agronomy, entomology, or Natural Resources at a South Dakota technical college or university, or any bordering state.

This scholarship is for students who's parents live within the Golden West exchange and are Golden West customers. Applicants must complete the SAT, ACT, or Accuplacer before December 31st of their senior year. Applicants must be attending a post-secondary institution and be a full time student.

This scholarship is for students that are children of parents who are members of Central Electric Cooperative and are pursuing a bachelor's degree in an agriculture related field. This is a $1000 scholarship.

This application includes an applicant appraisal section that is to be completed by an adult appraised (teacher, advisor, instructor, work supervisor, etc.).
