Science

Greetings and welcome to 6th grade Science! I am Mr. Stanforth and I am beginning my 12th year of teaching with the Meade School District. I have been at Stagebarn since its opening in 2018, and during my time here I have also taught 5th Grade Math and Science.  I also serve as Head Coach for the Cross Country and Track teams for Stagebarn. In addition to teaching, I also currently serve in the SDARNG as member of Training Center on Camp Rapid. 

This year in Science students' learning will be in the mainly area of Earth Sciences, with a heavy focus on geology,  geological processes, and how those processes have changed and shaped Earth over time and still shape Earth today.  We be using a new curriculum called Amplify Science this year in class, in which each Unit has an anchor phenomenon (an real world event/problem)) that students will investigate. 

I live in Summerset with my wife, Alyssa, our three daughters Braelyn (8) , Brynlee (4, turning 5 in September), and Brooklyn (2), and our two cats, Daisy and Buttercup.  Braelyn is excited to begin 2nd grade at PVE and Brynlee will be in Pre-school twice a week for one more year before starting Kindergarten next Fall.
