WELCOME!!!

I’m excited to have your child in 6th grade reading! My name is Laura Penticoff, and this will be my 16th year teaching in the Meade School District. I spent my first three years teaching 6th grade ELA and social studies, and the past twelve years have been dedicated to teaching 6th grade reading. I’ve been proud to call the Sturgis/Piedmont area home for my entire life. Being part of this community—both as a resident and an educator—has been a meaningful and rewarding part of my life.

In our class, students will explore a variety of texts, build essential reading strategies, and develop confidence in their abilities. Just as important, I prioritize building strong, positive relationships and creating a classroom community where every student feels valued and supported.
