My name is Sara McCurdy, and I am proud to be starting my 11th year teaching in the Meade County School District and my second year teaching 6th grade at Stagebarn Middle School. Before moving to 6th grade, I spent 9 years teaching 5th grade, where I primarily taught science but also had the opportunity to teach math, English language arts, and social studies over the years.
I grew up in Spearfish, South Dakota, and graduated from Black Hills State University. I am incredibly proud to call the Black Hills home and to be part of the Stagebarn community.
My husband, James, retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. Together, we have six boys: Eathen, Jace, Noah, Brennan, Hunter, and Easton. Needless to say, life at our house is rarely quiet!
This year, my goal is to help students grow into confident, capable writers who are willing to take risks, find their voice, and be proud of their progress.
I look forward to getting to know each of my students and helping them have a successful and enjoyable year!
