Access Tools: From the Kickup homepage, find your mentoring tools in the coaching section and click view all.
Select Tool: Access the list of all tools, search the list, or navigate pages using the arrows. Click on the tool you wish to use. You will be taken to your roster page.
Log Activity: Beside the name of the appropriate beginning teacher, click log activity.
4. Complete the Form: Fill out the tool.
All tools start with a "date of meeting" question and a "focus area of meeting" question.
Write a descriptive focus area to help you navigate back to the tool in the future.
Required questions are marked with a red asterisk; other questions are optional.
If questions are beneath collapsible headers, click the header title to view them.
Open response questions are rich text options, allowing you to bold, italicize, bullet, or add a hyperlink.
5. Saving and Planning: Kickup automatically saves a draft as you complete the form.
If you close the page, you will see a drafted submission icon on your homepage.
You are encouraged to use the draft submissions section to plan for meetings (e.g., jot down notes or pick out questions to emphasize).
6. Submit: Once you have completed the tool, click submit.
Upon submission, the tool's content is automatically emailed to your beginning teacher.
Program leaders will see that a submission was completed, but not the content of the tool.
A Time Log is required for every interaction. You must create a new, separate Time Log entry to account for the time spent on every mentoring activity, including work done within tools like the Planning Conversation Guide or after completing all phases of an Observation Cycle. KickUp does not automatically link time to other tool submissions.
1. Find the Time Log Tool
Log in to the platform at pulse.kickup.co.
From the homepage, navigate to the coaching section and click view all.
Find the Time Log tool (often on the second page).
Pro-Tip: For faster access, click the star icon next to the Time Log tool. This will move it to the beginning of your tools list on the homepage.
2. Start Your Entry
After selecting the Time Log tool, you will see your roster of beginning teachers. Find the correct teacher and click the log activity button located next to their name to begin a new entry.
3. Fill Out the Required Fields
Complete the form with the details of your interaction. The following fields are required:
Date of Meeting: Enter the date the interaction occurred.
Time Spent: The system defaults to 15-minute increments. If you need to enter a different duration, select the "other" option to input a custom amount of time.
Program Priority Area: Select the priority area that best aligns with the work you completed during the interaction.
Tool Used / Activity Type: Follow this rule to ensure correct categorization:
If you used a KickUp tool (e.g., Observation Cycle), select it from the list.
If you did NOT use a tool, you must select "None of the above" and then choose the appropriate option from the "Activity Type" field that appears.
Notes: Use this section to add general context or a brief summary of the interaction.
Important: The "Notes" section is not confidential. Program leadership can view the full contents of your time log. Please keep all notes general in nature.
4. Submit Your Log
Once all required fields are complete, click the submit button at the bottom of the page. This action officially adds the time to your total minutes for the month.
To properly document a canceled meeting or a no-show, you must enter the information exactly as described below. This specific process is critical for data integrity, as it allows program administrators to easily identify and filter these entries during reporting.
Time Spent: 1 min (ensure minute is selected, not hour)
Program Priority Area: Plan and Prepare
Tool Used: Select ONLY None of the Above
Activity Type: Select ONLY Canceled Meeting/No Show
Note: Do not select any other Activity Type if the meeting was canceled.
