Field Trip #1: NACAC College Fair

Who: Open to students in grades 9–12. Seniors will be given priority.
Cost: FREE!

Schedule

8:45 a.m. – Report to the College & Career Center (Library)
9:15 a.m. – Bus leaves Kapolei High School
10:00–11:30 a.m. – Attend the NACAC College Fair
11:30 a.m. – Board the bus
12:15 p.m. – Arrive back at Kapolei High School

About the College Fair

There will be more than 200 colleges at this event! College admission counselors will be available to provide information and answer any questions you may have. The event will be very crowded since students from other high schools will also be attending.

Please Note

• Students are not permitted to drive separately or meet us at the event. All students participating in the field trip must ride the school bus to and from the event.

• There are TWO college fairs on this day: 8:30–11:30 a.m. and 5:00–8:00 p.m. We will be attending the morning session. You are welcome to attend the evening session on your own or with your parent/guardian.

• Wear appropriate and comfortable clothing—you will be doing a lot of walking!

• You may bring a bag to carry the college materials you collect.

• It is recommended that you bring a water bottle and snacks. There may be vendors selling snacks and/or vending machines available, so you may also bring money if needed.

• Cell phones will be allowed.

Interested in Attending? Complete These Steps:

1. Download the Parent/Guardian Permission Form here.

This is an A Day, so you will need to get signatures from your Periods 1, 2, and 3 teachers. If you have a modified day or off period, write “modified day” in place of the teacher's signature for that period.

We expect to return to Kapolei High School around 12:15 p.m. Your teachers will be notified that you will attend B Lunch and then report to Period 4.

2. Upload your completed field trip form to Mr. Okoji's Google Form.

Make sure your form includes all required parent/guardian and teacher signatures.

3. Create your NACAC QR Code ahead of time using this link.

The college fair will be very crowded, with students attending from many high schools. Some college representatives may have long lines. Creating your QR code ahead of time will make it easier for colleges to scan your information and follow up with you by email. It is highly recommended that you create your QR code before the field trip!

4. Mark the field trip date and time on your calendar.

Be on the lookout for a confirmation email/text from Mr. Okoji. A reminder will also be sent approximately one week before the field trip with additional information.

Space Is Limited!

The first 108 students who complete the registration process will reserve a seat on the bus. Your field trip form must include the required parent/guardian and teacher signatures.

Mr. Okoji will send you an email/text confirming that you are registered for the field trip. Please do not assume you have a seat until you receive confirmation.

If you need a hard copy of the permission form, please stop by Mr. Okoji's office in the College & Career Center.
