Parent / Guardian Consent of Tech Tools
The parent / guardian signed consent for (1) their child's use of the various tech tools in the course, and the (2) Student Publication Audio/Video Release form are required for enrollment in an HOC course. The home-based school is responsible for collecting these documents and maintaining them on file for HOC school year courses.
The online courses offered in the Hawaii Online Courses (HOC) program are delivered in a learning management system called Canvas. The program also uses a variety of tech tools to support student engagement, learning, and assessment. Many of them are connected with Canvas for a smooth student experience.
