As the organization celebrates its 50th-anniversary milestone, the 2026-2027 HOSA international theme, "Redefine the Standard", marks a pivotal transition bridging half a century of tradition with the next era of leadership. It challenges members to take active responsibility and take direct ownership of where the healthcare field leads next.
Future health professionals are urged to raise expectations across patient care, biomedical innovation, and health equity. In leadership and community engagement, the theme asks members to elevate their personal and organizational goals beyond compliance.
Beyond system-level changes, the theme applies directly to the daily decisions of individual members. Whether applied to competitive events, executive campaigns, or local health projects, "Redefine the Standard" serves as a call to action for students to lead by example, setting new benchmarks in advocacy that inspire their peers to transform the future of healthcare.

MONTHLY EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETINGS
HI HOSA State Officers report information concerning updates and new announcements during monthly State Executive Council Meetings. The meetings usually includes, old business for past events, new business for upcoming events, and announcements. HOSA members and advisors from all chapters are invited to attend these meetings to receive up-to-date information and also make their voices heard. We highly encourage all members to attend our monthly State Executive Council Meetings so we can hear their opinions and voices to make this HOSA year as successful and memorable as possible.

HOSA STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE (SLC)
The highlight of Hawaii HOSA is the State Leadership Conference (SLC), where students from all the local chapters converge in person at one location. Members are able to compete against each other in an array of events within six categories, attend a variety of educational workshops and symposiums to learn more about the healthcare field from actual healthcare professionals, vote for next years State Executive Council, receive recognition in HOSA related activities, network with other health oriented students, and much more. On the international HOSA website, there is a section named “Choosing the Right Competitive Event for You” where members are matched with an event based on personal preferences.
