The Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, Inc. (FCCLA) is a nonprofit National Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private schools through grade 12.
Everyone is a part of a family, and FCCLA is the only nationwide CTSO with the family at its central focus. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education. Today, over 250,000 members are active in a network of associations in 50 states in addition to the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns, including parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, sustainability, nutrition and fitness, teen violence, and career preparation.
To promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through:
Character development
Creative and critical thinking
Interpersonal communication
Practical knowledge
Career preparation
We are the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.
We face the future with warm courage and high hope.
For we have the clear consciousness of seeking old and precious values.
For we are the builders of homes, homes for America's future,
homes where living will be the expression of everything that is good and fair,
homes where truth and love and security and faith will be realities, not dreams.
We are the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.
We face the future with warm courage and high hope.
FCCLA members explore career opportunities and build real-world skills by developing projects, engaging and participating in events, and competing regionally and nationally for scholarships and awards. There are two new career clusters featured this year, Human Service & Public Service. Through participation in FCCLA and exploration of FCCLA’s 6 Career Pathways, members acquire skills to be college and career-ready, including academic knowledge, technical expertise, and a set of general, cross-cutting abilities called “employability skills.”
This year 2026 FCCLA's theme is...
"ConneCTEd"
ConneCTEd is a reminder that success is not built alone. It is discovered through meaningful relationships, purposeful action, and the opportunities that Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) provide. This year, ConneCTEd challenges us all to see the value in every relationship, every experience, and every opportunity to grow.
Get ConneCTEd! To your goals. To your growth. To the future, you are ready to lead.
