Our 6th grade classes has worked hard to create a website with information about human impact on the environment through our technology, art, and voices through an argumentative essay. We have made projects to answer a question, "How can we as sixth graders design an idea that can help to address the impact of the human population on our Earth's system?"

For our PBL this year, we each created projects to show the Human impact on the Environment. For art we created two pieces, one recycled and the other up cycled. For our recycled, we used recycled materials and created something that represented the environment and the impact that humans have on the environment. On the other hand, the up cycled art piece was created out of recycled materials to use something useful in our everyday lives. We as 6th graders also created an animation to show the human impact on the environment and to spread the message on what kind of impact humans have. This year during Science, we have learned four strands of human's impact on the environment. We were able to choose which topic we were most interested in and we created an animation to spread the word of Human's impact. Lastly, we created an argumentative writing piece of COVID-19's impact on the environment. We were able to express our opinions on whether COVID-19 had a positive or negative impact.

January-February:

• We learned about the GPGP (Great Pacific Garbage Patch) and how we contributed to it

• Learned background information about the Black Death

• Compared the Black Death Plague to our COVID-19 experiences

• Looked at positive and negatives about COVID-19

March-May:

• Started planning and drafting argumentative essay for COVID-19

• Went through writing process for our argumentative essay

• Started working on our up cycled and recycled art pieces

• Started to plan and create our animation
