Aloha Parents, Guardians, and Students -
My name is Matt Gonsalves. I was born and raised on Kaua'i and graduated from Kapa'a High School. After high school, I earned a degree in Broadcast Communications from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. I worked in the field of TV and Video production for 20 years. Over those 20 years, I had the opportunity to work at ESPN in Bristol, CT and also create content for CBS, NBC, FOX and numerous other outlets. About 13 years ago, I decided to pursue a teaching degree through The University of Hawaii at Manoa. I have taught at Kapa'a High School since 2018. It gives me great joy to be able to teach at my alma mater. I have also had the opportunity to coach volleyball and soccer here at Kapa'a High. It is my pleasure to be your child's English teacher for Hui 'Onipa'a. I look forward to a great year. IMUA KAPA'A!
