My name is Elizabeth "Liz" Steiner. I love working with the Hui teams and am proud to serve you in Hui Onipa'a. I received my undergraduate degree at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in Foreign Languages. I worked at the IAB, Institute of Arctic Biology Greenhouse during my undergraduate studies. I also worked at the Alaska Native Language Institute. I received my post-baccalaureate in secondary education from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. I love to paddle. I coach here at the high school. This year will be awesome. I look forward to collaborating with all of you!

Freshman Biology will cover the 4 main Next Generation Science Standards: Molecules to Organisms; Ecosystems; Heredity; & Biological Evolution. In this course you will utilize a wide variety of activities to gather knowledge in these four areas. We will investigate natural phenomena close to home and around the planet. We will find connections using crosscutting concepts like patterns, cause/effect, structure/function, systems/system models to understand general principles of Biology.
