Freshman Academy

Academy Mission

The 9th Grade HUI/Freshman Academy will provide every student with an engaging and challenging course of study that develops the knowledge, skills and disposition necessary to pursue post-secondary education and careers

Objective 1: Provide support and to transition students to highschool
Objective 2: Create a HUI (Academy) system that effectivelyengages students and promotes belonging
Objective 3: Provide teaching and learning practices that buildfoundational skills for success
Objective 4: Prepare all students for academy selection by building their awareness of career pathways and professions.

Goal 1: 95% or more of all freshmen will attend school regularly

Goal 2: We will retain less than 2% of freshmen each year

Goal 3: 95% or more of all freshmen will pass their core classes with a “C” or better
Goal 4: 100% of all freshmen will select an academy based on informed data and evidence from assessments
