XWG0021 STEM: Flight and Space (Semester)
Ever wondered how a massive airplane stays in the air? Or what it takes to travel and live on Mars? Get ready to launch into an unforgettable adventure where you'll discover the mind-blowing secrets of flight and the future of space travel and exploration!
Our Flight Unit uses the STEMPilot curriculum and Pilot Pro Sit-In Simulator to put you in the pilot's seat. This isn't just a video game—you'll be operating real flight controls like a professional pilot. You'll get hands-on experience with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) concepts in an awesome, high-tech setting. The Pilot Pro-Level Controls use an actual yoke (steering wheel), throttle (speed control), and rudder pedals (foot controls) that feel just like the real deal. You'll need to use your critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and you'll definitely practice teamwork to navigate the skies. Get ready for a thrilling way to learn and apply science!
In our Space unit, students become Space Explorers and learn the physics of rockets and orbits. Then, face the ultimate challenge: becoming a Martian Base Designer. This unit is a hands-on design challenge that requires students to apply the Engineering Design Process, critical thinking, and imagination to solve real-world problems of sustainable human habitat on Mars to support the crew's survival, living, and working needs.
Get ready to take off on inspiring worlds of Flight and Space exploration!
