Purpose/Why?

Mentor Forums offer a venue support mentor growth and ensure accountability.
Support mentors in their craft/practice and hone in on their skills.
Provide Mentors with PD to add value of competence and confidence to the mentor
To continue to build teacher leaders
Mentors need to be supported with ongoing training to ensure mentor success
Platform of forums promote high quality mentoring and instructional coaching practices
“Professional learning communities are needed to help mentors develop skills to identify and translate the elements of effective teaching to teachers". ntc.org
“Just as beginning teachers need formal professional development, mentors of beginning teachers need job embedded collaborative professional development tailored to meet their needs". ntc.org

2022-2023 AMR I&M Program Calendar

Please make every effort to attend our Mentor Forums as they are part of Mentor Implementation Guide. After reviewing your feedback, our I & M Team along with CAS support/approval has made accommodations with the Mentor Forum format by:

Holding 4 required Mentor forums to 3!
Mentor Forum 3 is now individualized by having school team/and or individual consultations at your schools.
Mentors now have the opportunity to attend morning or afternoon sessions on 2 forums.
Length of forums have been adjusted so that mentors have more time to meet with their beginning teachers.
Giving a full day sub to provide sanctioned time to conduct mentoring activities.
