What is literary/library citizenship and how do I contribute?

Libraries are an essential part in the preservation and perpetuation of knowledge and information in society. Being a library citizen means being part of a community that supports libraries and librarians to guarantee that their services will continue for future readers. Some ways to be a good library citizen involve borrowing books, volunteering at book sales, donating money or books to library collections, and helping to instill the love of reading into others.
