PRIORITIES
Public education is crucial for a functioning democracy and the community's well-being. A robust educational system benefits not only students but the entire community. Through public education, we nurture informed and engaged citizens who can contribute to a fair and equitable society. We are creating community-based support for educators, fostering a culture of appreciation and solidarity to uplift those shaping the next generation.

A thriving democracy depends on the active participation of informed, engaged citizens. Civic engagement strengthens communities, fosters accountability, and ensures that public institutions reflect the needs and aspirations of all people.
We expand opportunities for public engagement, promote inclusive dialogue, defend democratic principles, and build the collective power necessary to advance the common good.

In today’s increasingly diverse world, embracing the richness of different cultures, perspectives, and experiences is essential. We are committed to an environment where all individuals are valued, respected, and allowed to contribute to community life. One initiative under this priority is creating an annual Indigenous Peoples Day event to acknowledge and honor Indigenous peoples' history, culture, and contributions, address the historical injustices they have faced, and build connections.

In an age marked by social isolation, media-driven division, and rapid change, our ability to connect across differences has been deeply strained. We seek to amplify the voices of those most impacted but often excluded. By promoting mental well-being and fostering open dialogue, we aim to cultivate a more empathetic, inclusive, and connected community.

A just community ensures that no one is left without safe shelter. Neighbors for Shelter is a community initiative advocating for stable, year-round emergency shelter in Brainerd. We are working to secure long-term permitting, build public support, and foster partnerships that uphold the dignity and safety of every community member, especially those with no where to sleep.
